How SARS-CoV-2 might get into your cells

This is a very interesting article detailing how exactly SARS2 gets into our cells.

I'll do my best to put it simply.

  • Cells in our airways have special cone-like projections sticking out, called ACE.
  • ACE normally work to convert a chemical called "angiotensin" into special chemicals that control our hearts and blood pressure.
  • SARS2 virus snags the cone, and uses it to open a door into the cell.

If this is proven true, then there's a chance we can find drugs that can block the "lock and key" between SARS2 and ACE.
